Aiming to present important developments and announcements regarding the country and the world agenda as well as all kinds of information that may be necessary to asylum seekers and refugees in their mother tongues, Migrant TV makes broadcasts in seven languages, namely Turkish, English, Arabic, Farsi, French, and Somali and Ukrainian.

Migrant Tv, is founded under  Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (SGDD-ASAM) in 2020. Migrant TV, aims to present important developments and announcements regarding the country and world agenda, all kinds of information that may be necessary, to asylum seekers and refugees in their own language. Broadcasts are produced in seven languages: Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian, French, Somali and Ukrainian.

Since the first days of the pandemic period in Turkey, the channel has started to share programs in six languages ​​in order to protect and inform asylum seekers and refugees from the epidemic.Afterwards, in order to facilitate the access of asylum seekers and refugees to rights and services in areas such as protection, education, health, and social services, the content of the announcements and services provided by T.C. Ministry of Health, T.C. The Ministry of National Education,  publications and the contents of the legal processes in the pandemic period, announcements, practices and services of international organizations such as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO-WHO) have begun to be included.

As Internet-based services become more widespread, the traditional habits of individuals are also changing. As a result, the internet and mobile communication make the digitalization and innovation requirements an important issue for the refugee context. Migrant TV started its broadcasting life based on the needs of asylum seeker and refugee communities while designing digital transformation processes.

Studies show that the use of the internet and social media is quite considerable among refugees in Turkey. Refugees use internet tools to access information from various aspects. Migrant TV, considering the needs and habits of refugees living in Turkey and the latest situation in the coronavirus pandemic period, by using web-based communication tools will provide significant positive results for refugees, especially Syrians, Iranians, Afghans, Iraqis and Somalis. Migrant Tv, aims to support refugees in accessing fundamental rights and services through web publishing and online tools, as well as support them to increase their knowledge and awareness.
